Both teams were very excited to win these awards because for both teams it was their first-time winning awards at a competition.
Ella Marshall was a nominee for the Dean’s list Award and she became a finalist in the 2019-2020 season. The Dean’s list award recognizes students in 10th and 11th grade that show leadership and dedication to FIRST. Dean’s list nominees are chosen by their teams and go through rounds of judging at competitions to become a finalist and potentially a winner. Two students are chosen from each team. There are 20 students, 10 from FTC and 10 from FRC, who become Dean’s list winners after judging at Worlds. In the 2019-2020 season Ella was a nominee and advanced to a finalist. She was going to go to Worlds, but unfortunately because of the COVID-19 pandemic, it was cancelled.
